Who we are

The Clarke County Humane Foundation (CCHF) is a 501(c)(3) organization with an all-volunteer board of directors dedicated to improving the quality of life for the animal population at the Clarke Animal Shelter and across the county.  CCHF board members bring specific talents to the board, and in common, all share a love for animals. The CCHF exists through private donations that year-around support the shelter’s ongoing activities.

What we do

As an animal welfare agency, the CCHF is a 501(c)(3) organization that exists through private donations and grants to support the shelter’s ongoing activities. The CCHF helps fund spay/neuter programs, sponsors low-cost rabies clinics and assists with humane education work.

To accomplish our mission the Foundation, along with community volunteers, sponsor special events and fundraisers to bring interest and awareness of the dogs, cats and other small pets that the Shelter houses and cares for on a daily basis.

The CCHF contributes to shelter staff salaries and works with Clarke County to keep the shelter operating as a public facility for the residents of Clarke County and surrounding areas.  CCHF leases the shelter to Clarke County for $1 a year with the agreement that the county be responsible for maintenance, management and staffing.
